Robert Fisher was born on November 22, 1927. The middle of three sons born to Gilbert and Thelma Fisher in Chicago, Illinois. In 1943 they moved to Hollywood, California. For health reasons, Robert went to John Marshall High School; he graduated in 1946 and was drafted in World War II. He went to March Army Air Force base for induction, and then to Scott Field Illinois for basic training. Once he graduated, he was sent to Giger Field, Washington, and learned surveying there. Robert was discharged in March, 1947 and went to work for the City of Los Angeles in March of 1948, in the Survey Division. He then retired in October of 1981, and went on to work for the Los Angeles Unified School District as a School Bus Driver, for Special Education Students. Robert finally retired in 1988 and moved to Perris, California, where he became a farmer and enjoyed it. His hobby during his working years was sea scouting, old ship #182 out of Los Angeles Council.
