Adele Marie Shaw Powell

October 3, 1933 – October 10, 2023

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Adele ‘Del’ Powell at Riverview Manor Nursing Home, Peterborough, on October 10, 2023 at the age of 90. Del was born October 3, 1933 in Burlington, Ontario to parents, Pearl and John Shaw. Loving mother of Brenda, step-mother of Kerry (Anne), Ron (Linda), Cheryl (Rick) and Natasha (Bryan). Grandmother of John, Nancy, Trevor, Kristin, Linda, Laura, Sara, Geoff, Tanja and Troy, Brandon, Ashlyn, and Megan. Great grandmother of fifteen great-grandchildren. Del will be remembered by her siblings, Norma, Allan, Peter, and Jane, along with her many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sons, Carl and Scott, husbands, Alfred Powell (2005) and Dale Thomas (2019), and siblings, Anita, Barry, David, and Audrey. In keeping with Del’s wishes, cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
