Barton Edwin Beckstead

BECKSTEAD, Barton Edwin – Peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on June 21, 2013 at the age of 77. Beloved husband of Anne Marie (nee Hart) for 53 years. Loving father of Michele Beckstead-Jackson, husband Robert and Kim Wilson. Proud Grampa to Jessica and Lynsay. Predeceased by his parents Ross and Mary Beckstead. Predeceased by sisters Wynona, Vaughn, Maxine and brothers Audeen and Irvine. Will be sadly missed by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Isobel Beckstead, Eleanor Whalen, Rita and John Hall, and Noel Hart. Barton will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Bart spent many successful years in the retail shoe business. For several years, Barton struggled with many serious medical challenges. In the end Barton was surrounded by family and friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 24th at the COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, June 25th from 11:30 - 12:30 p.m. followed by a funeral service in the Comstock Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Rosemount Memorial Gardens, followed by a reception at the Peterborough Naval Association, 24 Whitlaw Street.
