Betty Christine Ritchie Miles

Miles, Betty Christine – Peacefully in her sleep at Royal Gardens on Sunday August 7, 2011 in her 91st year. Predeceased by loving husbands Elton Miles (1988) and Jack Clarke (1949). Survived by her children Neil (Jean), Laurilee (Ken), John (Cheryl), grandchildren Julie (Steve), Kelly (Cody), Jennifer (Bruce), Ben, Luke, Cecily and Lauren, great grandchildren Jordyn, Nicole, Mackenzie, Taylor, Paige and Graeme. Loving sister of Mary Walmsley and sister-in-law of Margaret Hancock. Mom was a teacher at Coldsprings School for many years, as well as a life-long learner, always interested in the world and the people around her. Her students brought her great pleasure. Post-retirement, her passion was quilting, as an active member till recently of the Kawartha Quilters Guild and Mark Street Quilters. Mom was also a dedicated, enthusiastic member of Mark Street’s U.C.W. A Celebration of Betty’s life will be held at the MARK STREET UNITED CHURCH, 90 Hunter Street East, on Saturday September 10, 2011 at 1:30 pm. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. In memory of Betty, donations to the Mark Street United Church, Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
