Catherine Margaret Coulter Cummings

Passed peacefully at Campbellford Memorial Hospital on December 5, 2023. Survived by her loving sons, David Cummings (Nancy), John Cummings (Ruth) and William Cummings (Sandra). Catherine was the proud grandmother of Matthew, Emma, Mark, Hannah, Owen, Emily, Simon and Cole. She was predeceased by her husband, John William (Bill) Cummings, parents, Ernest and Margaret Ellen Coulter and her brother, William Coulter. Catherine started teaching in a one-room schoolhouse in Thomasburg and during her career taught music in Germany and Ghana. A supportive military wife, she moved frequently, and sacrificed much. She was an avid world traveller and is fondly remembered as a caring Mother and baker of the best chocolate chip cookies and brownies. She was a stalwart fixture in the church, supporting the Anglican Church Women for over forty years. Special thanks to the care staff at Island Park and Campbellford Memorial Hospital, and enduring gratitude to Andrea Conte for supporting Mom during the pandemic. A celebration of life with interment will be held at Christ Anglican Church, Campbellford in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to the Campbellford Memorial Hospital Foundation.
