Catherine Ann Jobin-Vander Schaaf, a beacon of faith and love, passed into eternal glory on January 3rd, 2025 at 9:06 pm, surrounded by the peaceful strains of worship music and the loving presence of her husband, Larry Vander Schaaf, in her hospital room at PRHC.
Catherine's life was a testament to her unwavering devotion to Jesus Christ. As a New Home Sales representative for Dietrich Homes, she touched countless lives with her genuine faith and refusal to compromise her beliefs.
Her greatest passion, however, was sharing the love of Jesus with children, a calling she fulfilled as both a children's pastor and the pioneering Principal of Christian Victory School.
Her legacy of planting seeds of faith in the hearts of others, especially children, will continue to flourish and impact lives for generations to come.
Catherine's caring nature and dedication to her faith were the hallmarks of a life well-lived in service to others. Catherine leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her husband Larry of Marmora, brother Rev. Joseph Jobin (Sharin) of Havelock, brother Edward “Teddy” Jobin of Marmora, sister Donna Jobin of Oshawa, and her mother Edith Jobin of Marmora. She joins her father, Joseph Basil Jobin, who preceded her in 2009.
Her nieces and nephews – Nathanael (Cassandra), Cathy-Jo, Jeremiah, and Jocelyn (Tim) - along with her great-nieces Isabella and Miah and great-nephews Josiah, Gregory, Anthony and Malakai, will carry forward the love and faith she instilled in them. Niece-in-loves Amanda and Jenniffer will also continue to be close to Catey's heart.
While we mourn her earthly departure, we celebrate the victorious life she led and the joyous reunion she now experiences in her heavenly home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday January 11, 2025 at CHRISTIAN VICTORY CHURCH, 520 Brealey Drive Peterborough, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. also at the church. Committal at Rosemount Memorial Gardens following. A reception will be held after the committal at the Church.
Stories and memories of Catey would be cherished and can be shared at comstockkaye.com
