Catherine Mary Shea

Catherine Shea (Guerin) Died peacefully on September 12th at St. Joseph’s at Fleming LTC in Peterborough, Ontario. Catherine was born in Buffalo, New York on July 25, 1926 but was raised in her true home, Peterborough. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Shea and devoted mother of Margaret (Malcolm Lawrence), Paul (Carolyn), Rita (Michael Conlin) and Christine (Greg Cannon). Dearly loved grandmother of Tim Shea (Amy), Tara Shea (Jason Russo), Christopher Cannon, David Lawrence (Amely Coulombe) and Maria Conlin (Tyler Kirkby-Davey). Special great-grandmother of Allison and Jacob Russo and Aidan Shea. Catherine is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews in both the Guerin and Shea families.

Predeceased by her parents Frank and Catherine Guerin, her identical twin sister Hazel Shine (Leo), brother Paul (Lily), sister Anne Cairns (Ken) and great-granddaughter Olivia Grace Shea.

Catherine dedicated her life to her family. Her unconditional love, care and concern for her children and their families will always be remembered. Mom’s life was enriched by the many people she met while living with Christine, Greg and Christopher. She was everyone’s “Gramma Catherine” especially to Claudette Springett and Derek, Lauren and Felicity Maudsley.

Catherine and Christopher shared a beautiful bond of faith and love. We are very grateful for the devoted care that Christine provided Mom over the years.

More recently, at St. Joseph’s at Fleming, Catherine rekindled her friendship with her first cousin and childhood friend Bernice Brooks (Dalton) where they reminisced about growing up in East City.

Resting at Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge Street where visitation will take place from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, September 16, 2021 (by reservation only – Contact Comstock-Kaye at 705-745-4683 or go https://signup.com/go/LCkHTPg). Burial at St Peter’s Cemetery following the Mass.
