It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Creed Jones, in Ottawa, ON, on August 3, 2024, in his 25th year. Creed is survived by his devoted and adoring parents Dean and Mary Jo, his brother Dane (Hailey) and his sister Darcy, his grandmother Trudy Jeffries, as well as his aunts and uncles Charlene Jeffries, Pat Dohaney, Kathy and Shawn Loucks, Mike Dohaney and Rosette Nodalo, Bill Dohaney, Colleen Falls, Martha and Jim Wiggins, and his cousins Alison, Tara, Shannon, Frankie, Emily, Matthew, Taegan, Jack, Cadence, Ryleigh, Hailey, Kenny, Kasey and Will. He will be greatly missed by his best friend Pedro. He is predeceased by his great-grandparents Verna and Lloyd Merry (Ba and Pa), his grandparents Edith and Frank Dohaney (Grammy and Poppy), his cousin Sophia Dohaney and his uncle Bill Black.
Creed entertained all who knew him with his unique sense of humour and his highlight reel saves. He lived his all too short life unapologetically, on his terms, with resilience, tenacity, determination and passion.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a private family memorial service and burial.
A public Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, August 25th from 1:30 – 6:00 pm (tributes and speakers at 3:00 pm) at the Healthy Planet Arena Banquet Hall (formerly The Evinrude Centre), 911 Monaghan Rd, Peterborough, ON. Everyone is invited to gather and share memories and stories of Creed with the family and each other. Media is respectfully asked not to attend.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Creed's name can be made to the following charities that were close to his heart. A GoFundMe has also been established with all the proceeds going to the same charities.
