Cynthia Jane Peterkin Gilmore

November 20, 1959 - August 1, 2024

At the age of just 64, after a long courageous battle with Crohn’s disease, Cindy passed away peacefully on August 1st with family and friends by her side at Peterborough Regional Health Centre.

Cindy was the daughter of the late Betty and Bud Peterkin, and the devoted mother of Jenn Riddolls (Gilmore). Cindy is survived by her brother Bill Peterkin (Tracy) and niece Lindsay (Alex).

Jenn and her husband Ridge relied on Cindy for wisdom and advice every day. They will both miss Cindy terribly but choose to remember her as a kind and devoted mother and mother-in-law who had a sarcastic wit accompanied by a big smile. She was an expert at cross-stitch. She loved her garden. She loved her grand dog – Buster.

Cindy was a long time member at Peterborough Co-operative Homes where she served many years on the Board of Directors, several as President. She could always be counted on to follow through. If she said she was going to do it, she did. If members didn’t know what to do, they could ‘just call Cindy’ and she would have the answer. Her presence will certainly be missed around the co-op.

Interment will take place on Wednesday August 14th at 2:00pm at Rosemount Memorial Gardens. Visitors are most welcome to join the family at the graveside ceremony. A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held at a later date.
