Flight Officer (POW) - Passed away at Sherbrooke Heights on December 15, 2014 in his 95th year. Beloved husband of the late Kathleen Bird (nee Melnyk). Loving father of Tom and his wife Joanne and Jim and his wife Kathy. Proud grandfather of Hannah, Emily, Annie and Ryan. Will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Funeral service to be held at ST. LUKE’S ANGLICAN CHURCH , 566 Armour Road, Peterborough on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held prior from 11:30 am until service time. Don was a Flight Officer in the R.C.A.F. during WWII. After his plane was shot down over Germany, he was taken as a POW. Don was an avid golfer & curler at the Peterborough Golf and Country Club.
