DONALD MURRAY BROWN

It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Dad, on January 27th, 2017, in his 86th year, with family by his side at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Predeceased by his wife Joan and his brother Robin, he will be greatly missed by his children, Kimberley (Brian), Stephen, Kelly and Lisa; cherished by his grandchildren, Andrew and Sarah. He will also be sadly missed by extended family, his many friends on Head Lake as well as staff at Brown and Brethour Insurance in Sunderland, where he started his business in 1958. He was a lifetime member of the Sunderland Lions Club for 57 years. Weekends were always at the family cottage on Head Lake, which he and Joan moved to in 1980, where you could always find him making furniture in the workshop. Dad loved living on the lake where family and friends were always welcome for drinks, a round of horseshoes, boating and snowmobiling. Special thanks to Cindy and Maryann at the Kidney Care Clinic for their support, advice and kindness, and the palliative care staff who made his last days comfortable. Private family arrangements have taken place. Donations can be made to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) Foundation – Regional Dialysis Program or the Palliative Care Unit.
