Donald Bernard Condon

November 12, 1960 - August 12, 2023

It is with great sadness that we share the tragic news of Don’s passing. On Thursday, August 10, Don fell at his home, hitting his head, and became unconscious. Despite the best efforts of the Peterborough and Kingston medical teams, the damage from the fall could not be mitigated. With Tyler and Cody, Tammy, Lexi and Sean at his side, Don passed away to rest in peace on August 12, 2023. A special thanks to Dr. Imelda Galvin, and RNs, Beth and Gary, at Kingston General Hospital ICU for their compassionate care.

Don was the first born to Adele (deceased) and Bernard Condon. He was born in Oshawa, worked at GM in Oshawa until retirement, but always had his heart in Peterborough. Don’s love affair with the area began at his grandparents’ farms (Carlow and Condon) in Douro, and later in Peterborough, when he fell in love with Kim Williams (deceased). Don set down roots in the south end of Peterborough with Kim, and they became a family with the addition of their beautiful boys, Tyler and Cody.

Don is survived by his father, Bernard, brother, David (Karen), sister, Tammy (Lexi), his eldest son, Tyler (Alanna) and Don’s grandson, Charlie, and Don’s youngest son, Cody. Don also leaves behind his nephews and nieces: Ryan (Cassie), Larissa (Daniel), and Sean Ovenden; Meghan, Brian, and Jimmy Condon.

Don Condon will be remembered as a kind man, dedicated to his family (including dogs, Faith and Mya), and any friends that needed a helping hand. He was a quiet man by nature, and believed in letting his actions do the talking.

A memorial service will be held at Ashburnham Funeral Home (840 Armour Rd) in Peterborough on Thursday, August 17, 2023 beginning with the visitation at 11:00 am and tributes at approximately 12:00 pm. Following the service, Don will be buried at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Douro.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
