Duncan died suddenly Thursday, November 7, 2019 from a heart attack, at home at the age of 61. Survived by his loving wife Mary Ann Gauthier (retired music teacher, Adam Scott CVI), his parents Carole and David Legget, his sister Elizabeth Legget Manore (Mark Manore) nephews Andrew and Cameron, his uncle Keith Baker and Keith's children Danny, Michael and Randy, aunt Sheila Hambleton (uncle Donald Hambleton - deceased), his mother-in-law Kay Gauthier (father-in-law John Gauthier - deceased), sisters-in-law Catherine and Jane Gauthier, brother-in-law Michael Gauthier (Jane), their four children - Bonnie (Tim), Steven, Brian (Vanessa) and Denise, and Michael and Jane's seven grandchildren.
Duncan will be especially missed by his best friend Derryk Renton (Charlene), friends Kata Vukovic, Ken Gourlie, John Wilson and 4 legged pal Gazoo.
Duncan was a proud Canadian Military Policeman for 15 years. After leaving the military he worked for the Department of National Defense in Bosnia. He then worked in law and security for over 25 years.
A proud member of the Pointsman Association, Duncan organized the Ride for Heroes in Peterborough in 2011 which raised money for a bursary at Fleming College.
He was also a member of the Peterborough Model Club and a member of the United Services Institute at the Peterborough Armouries. Duncan also enjoyed his Alphagetti meetings with his friends from St. Alphonsus Church.
Duncan was an avid WWII history buff, an exceptional military model builder and a fantastic cook. He was always quick to tell a joke, discuss politics, enjoyed classical music and CBC radio.
During his seventeen years with Mary Ann, Duncan was an incredibly supportive husband. They loved each other deeply and had many adventures, including travelling to Alaska six times.
Fairwell Duncan. Emmet, the wonder dog will be there waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge, along with Mary Ann's dad, Marie, Del and all your friends who have gone before you.
Please wear something red to Duncan's funeral to honour the Red Beret of the Canadian Military Police.

Services will be held at TRINITY UNITED CHURCH, 360 Reid Street, on Saturday, Nov. 16, with visitation from 11am - 12pm, Funeral Service at 12 noon and a time of fellowship at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the War Amps Champ Program, the Peterborough Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
