It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Elinor on May 14, 2025.
Beloved wife of the late Vern St Louis for 50 years. Proud and loving mother to Kevin (Christie) and Craig (Meghan). Caring Grandma to Nico. Dear sister of the late Lois Parent (late Claude) and Lorne Parnell (Nancy), and daughter of the late Howard and Ruth Parnell. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Elinor was a shining light of compassion and love in our lives and a role model for many. She dedicated her career to helping others through her work with Guide Dogs for the Blind and the Canadian Hearing Society. Elinor was at peace in nature. She loved hiking, camping and spending time outdoors with her family and her dogs. She was an avid traveller and had many amazing adventures all over the world throughout her lifetime with Vern and her family.
Elinor’s genuine love and care, her warmth and empathy, her kindness and acceptance will be deeply missed by many, but never forgotten.
Please join us to celebrate Elinor’s wonderful life and legacy at Gamiing Nature Centre, 1184 Pigeon Lake Road in Lindsay Ontario on Saturday July 5th between 2pm and 5pm with a dinner reception to follow. We invite guests to gather in honour of Elinor’s life with their stories and memories.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be graciously received at The Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Peterborough Humane Society.
