One of eight children—four boys and four girls—Betty was born and raised on a farm in Brantford, Ontario. Gentle, kind-hearted, and thoughtful, she carried those steady values throughout her life. Loyal and honest, she was cherished by those who knew her, and her quiet humour and generous spirit were gifts to family and friends alike.
Betty married James Lacasse on August 18, 1945. They shared 56 years of marriage and, together, travelled to Hawaii twice—memories that remained especially dear.
In later years, Betty enjoyed the music and entertainment at St. Joseph’s at Fleming, where these moments of companionship and joy continued to brighten her days.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, James Lacasse; her son, Gerald James Lacasse; her brothers Lou (Hazel), Alex (Marvel), Steve (Josie), and Charlie (Marion); and her sisters Helen (Sid), Anne (Arthur), and Irene (Cliff). She is lovingly remembered by her son Donald Edward Lacasse of Victoria BC; her daughter Catherine Laura Thickins (Mark) of Stirling; her granddaughter Jenny Cooper (Chris); her grandson Timothy Dunnah (Jacqueline); her great-grandsons Jacob and Solomon of Mississauga; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Lovingly remembered by daughter in law Lucy of Mississauga.
The family extends sincere thanks to all the staff at St. Joseph's at Fleming who provided seven loving years of care to our mom.
In keeping with Betty's wishes there will be no service, cremation has taken place.
