McPhie, Elizabeth (Betty) – Cherished wife of Ross for over 72 years, passed away peacefully at Royal Gardens, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 22, 2015. Adored and admired by her children: Joan (Frank O’Neill) of Vancouver; Paul (Linda) of Qualicum Beach, BC; Carolyn (Fred Hamblin) of San Diego, CA; Patty (Paul Harnden) of Peterborough; Peter (Helga) of Barrie; and Chris of Qualicum Beach, BC. Devoted Grandma to fifteen grandchildren and very proud Great-Grandmother of fifteen great-grandchildren. The McPhie family wishes to express our profound gratitude to Dr. Don Spink for his exceptional professional care of Mom over the years, but especially during these last two weeks. Mom was so appreciative of each and every staff person at Royal Gardens; they regarded Mom as family and offered compassionate care and warm friendship at all times. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Peter-in-Chains, 411 Reid Street, followed by a reception and the sharing of spoken tributes to Mom at the Knights of Columbus Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Comstock Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 356 Rubidge Street.
