Black, Elsie Alma in her 103rd year, passed away at Lakefield Extendicare on Monday, November 13, 2017. Wife of the late George W. Black, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Maynes. Dear Mother of Margaret, Mrs. Donald E. Wood of Lakefield and William E. Black and his wife Carolynne (Lynne) of Lakefield. Loving Grandmother of Robin (Steve Dempsey) of Toronto, Holly (Craig O’Brien) of Douro, Jessie (Ian Topic) of Carlsbad, California and Daniel and wife Kendra of San Francisco, California. Proud Great-Grandmother of Eric and Dana Paisley, Samuel and Cheyenne O’Brien and Sierra Topic. Elsie was pre-deceased by her sisters Mary Beckett and Anne Black. A private family service was held at Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre on November 16, 2017. The family would like to express our sincere thanks to the staff of Lakefield Extendicare for their care and compassion during Elsie’s time with them. In memory of Elsie, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, a charity close to her heart.
