Passed peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Thursday August 22, 2013 at age 87. Beloved wife of Robert F. Thornton. Dear mother of David Bowie and his wife Judith. Loving grandmother of David Bowie and his wife Jennifer, Cristin Bowie and Stephanie and her husband John Klaassen. Great-grandmother of Liam, Paxton, Billy and Robert Klaassen, David and Jacob Bowie; Madison and Brayden. Sister of the late Joan Fox, Elizabeth Harris, Thomas, Bill and Bobby Wilson and Anne Allen. Will be remembered by “unofficial adopted” granddaughter Christine Galea. Friends will be received at the COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street on Monday, August 26, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. The service will be held in the Comstock chapel on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. The Reverend Scott Couper will be officiating.
