Dearest Ruth, Victor and all other cousins, we are extremely sad to learn about the demise of our uncle Franz and our thoughts and prayers are with him and you. Though he lived so far away he was always present in our memory, remembering his two, three visits during our childhood and youth, once along with our aunt Ruth. He was cheerful, playing guitar and singing western songs (see one of the fotos in the gallery, in our garden at Herrsching near Munich), making jokes... And I cherish the memory of our family visit to Aschau, his and our father's place of birth, where by chance Franz could join due to a surprise visit to Germany... I remember when we went to the little wooden house, accompanied also by the third of the brothers, Michael, where they have grown up along with little Mariele during the first years of their life. We always trained to know the names of Franz' and Ruth's children, our cousins, according to their age and each year we were waiting for Franz' letter in December with annual family news. Dear cousins along with your partners and children - though distance by miles is large, we are eager to reduce the distance to mimum from heart to heart. My condolences and thoughts to the Kreuz family in this difficult time.
I had the pleasure to meet Franz and Ruth when they visited Vancouver. Loved to hear his stories. He was a very accomplished man. An artist, builder, athlete, entertainer and let's not forget ...cat lover! He will be missed.

Ruth and family, please accept our deepest sympathies and prayers at this most difficult time. We have so many fond memories of Franz through Port Hope Yacht Club. Sailed with him across the lake a couple of times. Always enjoyed his humour. He entertained our kids for hours with his magic tricks. He was the life of the party dressed as Charlie Chaplin at a Halloween party once. He always had time to say hello and share a story. The club has lost another Past Commodore and great member.

My heart goes out to the entire Kreuz family. Please know I am thinking of all of you as you say good bye to your dad, husband and grandfather.
I can't tell the number of times he was in my thoughts over the past few months of being in Toronto over looking Lake Ontario and watching the sail boats....I remember so clearly the day I was fortunate enough to have sailed the same lake with him.
