Gerald Turk Gordon Powell

WW II Veteran RCNVR and longtime employee of Peterborough Lumber)

Peacefully on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at PRHC at 89 years of age. Gerry was the beloved husband of Lena (nee Macphail) for 63 years. Loving father of Bill (Kathryn), Jan Simmonds and Bob (Anna). Loving Papa of Michael (Heather), Heather Anne (Tim), Bradley, Daniel and Matthew; Great Papa of Liam. Loving brother of Mary (Lloyd) Dobson and brother-in–law of Dorothy Powell and Bruce Baker. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews and their families as well as Lena’s family. Gerry was predeceased by his parents Roy & Dora and siblings Mac Powell and Beth Baker. He was active in baseball and hockey in the post war years. Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 5:00 pm on Wednesday at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, and noon until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at GEORGE STREET UNITED CHURCH, 534 George Street, North.
