It is with great sadness that the family of Gillian Hall announces her passing at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on January 17th, 2019 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Gillian was born in Bangor, Northern Ireland, on September 25th, 1945, and came to Canada as a child with her parents. She was the third child of four, born to the Rev. Robin Boggs and Margery Boggs, both having predeceased her. Loving mother of Gregory Hall. Dear sister of Cathryn Scott (Donald, deceased) of Thornhill, Michael Boggs (Jacqueline) of Burlington, and Patricia Robertson (John, deceased) of Mississauga. Dear aunt of Carolyn Khatabi (Ali), Sandra Sirizzoti (Danny), Andrew (Liz), Jason (Katherine), and Ryan Boggs, Maureen Connelly (Michael), and William Robertson (Lita), and many great nieces and nephews. Gillian will be fondly remembered by cousins in Ireland, and by many dear friends. Gillian’s vocation was in nursing. She graduated from Women’s College Hospital in 1967, and pursued her nursing career in the operating rooms of Wellesley Hospital in Toronto, Queensway Carleton Hospital in Nepean, Lakeridge Hospital in Oshawa, and retired in 2010 from the Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Gillian enjoyed playing bridge and quilting, and loved travelling. Her passion was spending summers at her cottage on Kennissis Lake in Haliburton. The family wishes to extend their profound thanks to Sheila Bolton, for organizing Gillian’s care in her last few weeks at home, and to Gillian’s many friends who participated in providing that care.
