Peacefully at Fairhaven Long Term Care on Friday, January 19, 2024 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Adrian Walton. Loving mother of Beverley Lane (late Daniel), the late John (Linda), Ronald (Lynda), late Michael, Byron (Elke), Lorelei Lapp (Peter), and the late David. Proud grandmother of Natasha, Aaron, Jacob, Michael, David, Stephanie, Laura, Daniel, Calvin, Lisa, Jessica, Heather, Rebecca and the late Kris. Adoring great-grandmother of Zachary, Hayden, Dillon, Spencer, Luke, Elizabeth, Leia, Kwintin, Joshua, Scarlett, Madeline, Evelyn, Nathaniel, Leo and Oshin. Predeceased by her parents William and Helena Dillon, and her 5 siblings. Survived by her sister in law Margaret Dillon. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Gwen was a longtime member of the United Church, at Keene United and at Trinity United. She served on many church committees and a one point was a United Church of Canada Bay of Quinte Presbyterial Representative.
Gwen is fondly remembered by many who knew her at Camp Ponacka where she was the cook for over 25 years. Gwen was a frequent Nanny, and assisted many Peterborough families.
A memorial service will be held at Keene United Church, 30 North Street, on Friday, February 16th at 2 p.m. In memory of Gwendolyn, donations to ONE CITY PETERBOROUGH would be appreciated by her family.
