Passed away peacefully at Fairhaven, on Friday, November 2, 2012, in her 96th year. Hazel was born July 3, 1917. She was the beloved wife of the late Percy Vansickle (1979). Dear mother of Anna Derbyshire (Derwent) of West Kirby England, Connie Gregory (Don) of Stouffville, Robert (Sharon) of Oshawa, Bette Cookman (Ron) of Peterborough, and Don (Audrey) of Smith Falls. Loving “Grandma Van” to twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Sister of Arnold Thompson (Monica), Dora Veals (late Ivan), Douglas “Bud” Thompson (Roberta) and the late Marjorie Ferguson (late Russell), Burt Thompson (late Marg), Ernest Thompson (surviving Vivian). Hazel will also be remembered by many other nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service will be held at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, on Tuesday, November 6, at 2:00 pm, with visiting one hour prior, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm.
