Ms. Helen Mary Weddell

Peacefully in her sleep on Friday, September 3, 2010. Predeceased by her sister Isabel (late Dr. Harry Barrett), her brother Dr. John Weddell and her twin sister Agnes. Survived by her sister-in-law Jean Weddell. Dear aunt of Dr. Charles Barrett (Lynda), Judith McCreery (Bill), John Barrett (Joan), David Weddell, Peter Weddell (Barb), Rob Weddell (Carole) and Susan Johnson (Cal) and their families. Helen will be deeply missed by her dear longtime friend Ian Wills. She was very involved in the community; member of St. Andrew’s United Church, Historical Society of Peterborough, Peterborough Golf & Country Club, I.O.D.E.; and she volunteered at Hutchison House and the Art Gallery of Peterborough. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 12 from 2-5 pm at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough, (705) 745-4683. Interment will take place at 3:00 pm on Monday at Little Lake Cemetery. A celebration of Helen’s life will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, October 9, 2010 in the chapel of the funeral home. Memorial donations to Cancer Society, Peterborough Historical Society, Art Gallery of Peterborough or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by Helen’s family.
