Henry Arnold Bowen

BOWEN, Henry Arnold - After a lengthy struggle with COPD. Father was taken from us peacefully on Friday, March 02, 2007 at Peterborough Regional Health Center. Born 1929 in Montreal, Quebec, second youngest son of Herbert Francis Bowen and Elizabeth Goswell of London, England. Devoted husband to Audrey Morris and loving father to Gary, Robert and Randolph (Clare Murphy) and adoptive father to Niall O'Reilly (Terri Rothman). Brother to Herbert, Mae (Hotaling) and the late George, Violet (Pillage), and Shirley (Prunier). Dear brother-in-law to Joan Dzikonski and Gil Peterson and loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews. His friendship and energy will be greatly missed by his friends and neighbours in Peterborough and elsewhere, and his fellow golfers at Keystone. Henry dedicated his life's work and expertise to the education and enrichment of his students from the Lakeshore Regional School Board,

Greenfield Park School Commission and Chinook's Edge Div. #73 (formerly

Mountainview), Sundre, AB.. He participated in and directed numerous plays with the Peak Theatre Players, Sundre, AB., as well as the Lakeshore Players, Pointe Claire. He was nominated for Air Canada's Heart of Gold Award in 1988 for community service in Sundre AB. Henry enjoyed spending his recreational and retirement time at the golf course playing and improving the game he loved. A very special thanks to the doctors and dedicated nursing team at PRHC for their care to Henry and comfort to us. There will be no immediate funeral service. Plans for a memorial service and inurnment will be announced at a later date.
