Hilda Irene Gilpin

Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt and Grandmother (Nanny)

Peacefully at the Peterborough Retirement Residence on Tuesday December 19th at the age of 77 after several months of battling many health issues.

Beloved wife of the late Douglas Edward Gilpin, who left us earlier this year on June 23rd, 2023. Loving mother of Doug Jr. (Lisa) and Chris (Christine) and loving grandmother to six grandchildren. Sister of Joe Drummond (Janis), Dave Drummond (Judy) and Bill Drummond (Ruth-Ann). She is predeceased by her siblings Joanne Drummond, Peter Drummond (Donna), Jack Drummond, Theresa Monaghan (Barry), Loretta Drummond, and her parents George and Lillian Drummond. Hilda will also be remembered by many extended family and friends.

Her family would like to thank the many, many nurses and doctors at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre that took care of her during her multiple stays at the hospital over the last six months. They would also like to thank the staff at the Peterborough Retirement Residence that took care of her in her final stage of life. Plus, a special thank you to the Peterborough Home and Community Care Support Services and the Peterborough Paramedics for all of their assistance to both Doug and Hilda.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 10th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge St., Peterborough. A Funeral Service will be held the next day in our chapel on Thursday January 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Rosemount Memorial Gardens.
