Passed away at Hastings Centennial Manor in Bancroft on Sunday, November 24, 2024. Beloved husband to the late Irmgard Bastian who passed on March 9, 2006. Loving father to Dr. Ralph Bastian (Dr. Brenda Bastian). Predeceased by children Michael Bastian on April 23, 1979 and Katharina Sammut (Paul) on July 28, 2017. Loving Opa (Grandfather) to Hannah Bastian, Rebecca Bastian, Matthew Bastian, Lena Sammut and Samuel Sammut. Uhr Opa (Great Grandfather) to Abigail Bastian.
Horst immigrated to Canada in 1955. They were married in Montreal in 1957 and moved to Peterborough in 1960. He worked as a skilled cabinet maker and was active in his church. He was thrilled to be an Opa and loved to spend quality time with his family.
