I worked with "Izzy" for 15 years at Lindsay Broadband.  She was a warm and loving person and would often come to see me and proudly show off pictures of her boy "Rusty".  I am going to miss her very much.  Rest in peace Izzy.

I worked with Issy for several years. She loved to tease me and then would laugh like heck when I caught on. I would tease her back as well and she would pretend to be upset with me. She was kind hearted and loved it when we shared pictures and stories of our dogs. She is missed greatly.

Ifirst met Isobel at Crestwood High School In Grade 9 we were both in the same class (hairdressing  before she decided to change her course I hung around with her and Marion Renwick  I was short and she was tall  so we wereknown as Big Isobel and Little Isabel she was such a wonderful person to know and she had a wonderful sense of Humour  I feel i have been Blessed to have known her I would just like to send my Heartfelt Condolences to her Family.

My heartfelt condolences to Izzy’s family and extended family, Izzy touched so many over the years.  I was saddened to hear of her passing, she came to my mind a couple of weeks ago and I was wondering how she was doing. Then came the news.
We met for the first time playing hockey. And after getting to know her, she was that ‘gentle giant’ that everyone has spoke about. The only thing bigger was her smile, I don’t think I ever seen her without a smile on her face.  
RIP Izzy, you will definitely be missed by all who called you ‘FRIEND’

I knew Isobel from our shared work experiences at Lindsay Broadband. While I have only been there for a few years, Isobel was quick to give me a warm welcome, along with daily smiles and friendly chats. She was such a dear soul and will be greatly missed !

To Izzy’s family, my deepest condolences on the passing of such a great and loving person.  My sister & I had the privilege of working in Lindsay with her many moons ago.  Often after work on Fridays,  a group of us would venture out for a night on the town!  Whoo Hoo!  Afterwords she would come and stay at our parent’s home.   I never played hockey but did frequently be at the local arenas and watched Isabel play.  At this time cherish all the memories to help ease  your sorrow.   RIP great one, you are going to be greatly missed. 

The first time I met Izzy was at the blue line at the Lakefield hockey arena(keep your head up cc).  The chatter in the dressing room was hey watch out for Nichols and her slap shot get out of the way as soon as you can.
  I remember driving in Izzy’s brand  new Jeep truck white and maroon she was so excited always wanting to be the driver be it hockey or ball.
“Wherever a beating soul has been, there is a tail of beautiful memories”.

RIP Izzy! If you look up "gentle giant" in the dictionary, you'll find Izzy's photo. In the years I knew Izzy from seeing her play in the annual 24th of May Port Colborne women's fastball tournament under the late Bobby Crowe before I even knew I'd end up in Peterborough to her days playing  fastball and hockey, I never knew Izzy not smiling. The old joke suits Izzy: "The good news you're going to play again for Bobby Crowe. the bad news, you're starting  tomorrow!"

How many ball players could hit the ball right out of East City Bowl like Izzy could?  Not too many that I know of. How many people would go on a vacation to Hawaii and never leave the hotel room? Only Izzy and her buddies. She loved life, sports and friends and she was easy to love. Too young and too soon to leave. You will always be remembered.

I worked with Isobel in the 70's at the Lindsay Antenna in Lindsay.
Isobel was a hard worker, thoughtful, and kind hearted.
She was a joy to work with.
Isobel certainly touched the hearts of many during her life and will always be remembered by her co-workers from the past and present.

Sorry for your loss and our deepest sympathy to Izzy and Family. Izzy was one of the best. She was excellent in every sport she was playing.  Not only that but she had beautiful personality and would do anything for you. I played with Izzy on baseball teams and also played against her. Either way she always had that beautiful smile on her face and such a robust laugh!! Your sports buddies and drinking friends Scribby and Deb will be waiting for you with open arms. I felt really sad when I heard that Izzy was in hospital, and heartbroken when I heard of her passing.  Although I didn't play much sports, I was the cheerleading squad for a lot of the ball, hockey and basketball games.  My heartfelt sympathy to Cindy and Diane.   RIP Izzy.  You will be missed!

Murray and I would like to send our sympathy to Isobel's  family. She was a great person to be associated with in sports and life.    Our loss is heavens gain.  Imagine the games in heaven now that Izzy is there.  God bless.

Gonna miss her infectious smile and her kind soul. I’m so heartbroken to hear that we’ve lost our dear Izzy. She touched so many peoples lives, whether that be in sports or just in passing. I was fortunate enough to reconnect with Izzy in the last few years. Although it was just on Facebook we were somehow always able to pick up a conversation and reminisce about the old times. Mostly we chatted about our kids (our dogs). She was so proud of Rusty and how he was learning new tricks or cursing because he had chewed something up. I have so many memories of the times I was able to share with Izzy and I will always treasure them. I will miss our chats my friend. Now you Rest In Peace. Big hugs. XO

Izzy was a great athlete and a good friend. She touched so many lives with her kind and gentle ways. She will be sorrowfully missed by everyone that knew her.

Remembering my dear friend Izzy who was very special to me.  I have known Izzy since she was 16 or 17 years old.  We played softball, basketball and hockey together.  We were pretty much always teammates - with the exception of house league hockey.  She was my protector in hockey .. nobody took me on without having to deal with Izzy.  She was an exceptional athlete and an even better person.  Over this past month, Izzy's friends in sport have been sending their well wishes and praying for her to recover.  We are now a heartbroken group of people who know what a treasure Izzy was in our lives .. we all have our own stories and special memories to cherish.  She will never be forgotten.  My thoughts and prayers are with you Cindy, Diane and your families at this truly sad time.
