Jack was the beloved husband to Erika for 38 beautiful years. He was the cherished father to Annette Coring (Dave), Jack Poot (Alicia McCreath), and Tanya Foster (Mike Booth). Jack enjoyed many memories with his grandchildren Sarah, Matthew, Justin (Isabelle), Kaitlyn, Thomas, Nate, Ollie, Georgia and Lukas.
Jack is predeceased by his parents, brothers Richard & Gary and sister Edith. He is survived by his sisters Nelly, Joanne, MaryAnn (Abel), Willie (Bob), Elly (Sye), Cora (Dale), mother-in-law Ursula, sister-in-law Sue (Dennis) and brother-in-law Mike (Crystal) as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jack was born in The Netherlands and immigrated to Canada in 1952 with his family and spend many years in Georgetown and then retired to Peterborough. He proudly worked for 28 years for the Halton Regional Police Force. He was honoured to be the oldest member of the TRU team and an integral part of the Surveillance team before he retired. He was also a proud member of the Georgetown Referees Association and refereed for over 20 years.
More than anything, Jack loved his Erika and his family. He loved the outdoors including hunting, fishing and time on his boat on the lake with his family.
Our special thank you goes to the wonderful doctors and staff of the Palliative Unit at the Peterborough Hospital for his exceptional care.
As per Jack’s wishes, no service is scheduled.
