Precious sister-in-law to the late Helen Gibson (late Ken) and aunt to their children: Mary Mackay (Karl) and Lee Ross (Glenn).
Mom grew up on a farm in Omemee until she was 13 years old. At that time she moved into the village to live with MD and Mae Earl. They nurtured her through her teen years, and on to nursing school at Nichols Hospital. Mom was forever grateful to them for the opportunities she received. Soon after graduating she married Dad and started a family. Mom led a very productive life right up until the end. She was a caregiver extraordinaire whether it be for family, friends or neighbors. She was present for all. In 1963 Mom started working at the Medical Centre for Dr. Robert Nott, and Dr. Paul Harriman. She worked there until retirement. In retirement Mom and Dad spent their time at their cottage on Anstruther Lake (Panacea) and their home in Bradenton Fl. They wintered there for 31 years. During that time they took many cruises, played bridge and simply enjoyed their family and friends. Mom was an avid bridge player and enjoyed her Wednesday afternoon Ladies group at the PGCC. She was an active member of Trinity United Church for over 75 years. There, both Mom and Dad enjoyed the friendships of many people who became lifelong friends. Several years after Dad died, Mom moved to Princess Gardens where she enjoyed the many activities they provided, as well as new friendships.
Thank you Mom for all your never ending unconditional love for each of us. You are gone, but we are left with wonderful memories.
The family will have a private graveside service at a later date. In memory of Jackie, if you wish, please consider a donation to The MS Society of Ontario. Online condolences can be made at www.comstockkaye.com
