Jean Eleanor Mortlock

Today we mourn the loss of a dear wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother (G.G.), sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. Jean was born July 17, 1923 in Harwood, Ontario and was suddenly taken from us on Thursday, September 22, 2011 in her eighty-ninth year. Jean is predeceased by her cherished husband and life long partner Albert (Bert) of 57 years. She was a most loving mother of Bill (Debra), Bob (Lorraine),

Tom (Wenda) and daughters Judy (Dave Somerville), Janet Mortlock (Pat Quinlan), Marilou (Scott Murray). She was a much loved grandmother of Jason, Craig (Ashley), Brett, Lauren, Jenna and Jamie and (G.G.) to Hayden, Delaney and Theron. She is predeceased by her brothers Neil, Stuart and Morris Shearer and survived by many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many more dear relatives and close friends. Jean led a full life, graduating from the Peterborough Business College, a short career at Quaker Oats, taking pride and joy in her primary role as “mom”, travelling the globe with Bert to many Masonic events and many more trips with family and friends. She enjoyed countless hours of bridge and watching baseball. Sunday dinners will remain a treasured memory. We will miss her adoring spirit, sense of humour, her faultless memory and wonderful outlook on life. First we mourn and then we celebrate!
