Jean Shearer

Peacefully, at St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto, on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late James Shearer, loving mother of Robert Shearer (Andre), Don Shearer (Joanne) and Sandra McDooling (Brian). Proud Grandmother of five and proud great Grandmother of five. Dear sister of Bill Walker (Shirley) and sister in law Maizie Nichols. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. The family will receive friends at Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 p.m. in the onsite Chapel. A reception for family and friends will be held onsite immediately following the service. Interment Zion Cemetery, Old Keene Road, Ontario will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Jean, to the St. Michael’s Foundation, Peterborough Humane Society or a charity of your choice. The family would like to recognize the intensive care unit at St. Michael's hospital, Toronto and Jean's friends and the staff at Canterbury Gardens where she has resided for the last seven years.
