Olmstead, Joan (nee Baker) December 31, 1946 to July 20, 2017 – Passed away on July 20, 2017 in her 71st year at home surrounded by her family. Joanie and Poppie enjoyed 52 years together raising their family. Joan previously worked at Millbrook Industries and J & J (Ethicon Sutures). She will be remembered fondly for her love of gardening, birds and music. Loving wife of David. Dear mother of Stephen (Laurie) and Tanya (Jane). Very special grandmother to Shayna and former mother-in-law to Marvin. Missed by her devoted sister Joyce (Shawn). Predeceased by her parents Ken & Anne, sister Janet and brother John. Will be missed by Molly. Visitation will be held at the Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge Street on Wednesday, July 26th, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. If so desired, in memory of Joan, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Peterborough.
