Retired school bus driver, housewife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Long time member of Cephas Christian Reformed Church. Peacefully, with family by her side, on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Riverview Manor in her 78th year. Beloved wife of Floris “Floyd” for 56 years (2009). Loving mother of Larry (wife Tammy) of Bancroft, Henry (wife Lisa) of Havelock, Jean Widdis (husband Brian) of Hastings, Gary of Peterborough, Randy of Bowmanville, Margaret Laton (husband David) of Acton and the late Benny (surviving wife Joan) of Peterborough. Dear Oma of Jeremy, Jenny, Jason, Lee-Anne Howse (husband Steve), Emily, Sarah, Daniel and Jared Widdis, Justin, Alex, Trisha, and Katie, Adam & Jessica Laton. Great Oma of Maddox Howse, Maddison Oakley and Ava Hogendoorn. Sister of late Sita Vanasselt (late husband Lutz), Klaas DeBoer (wife Henny), late Mienie Horensma ( late husband Berend), late Gerry Stigter (husband Kees), late Jenny Quartel (husband Jack), Gerrit DeBoer (late wife Richtje), late Arend DeBoer (wife Corrie) and Henk DeBoer (wife Sina). She will be missed by many other relatives and friends in Canada and Holland. Visitation will take place from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Monday, January 3, 2011. Funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm at CEPHAS CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH, 220 Goodfellow Road, Peterborough. Interment will follow at Rosemount Memorial Gardens, Peterborough.
