John Paul Burke

John Paul Burke (85) died March 6, 2025 at Peterborough RHCC. Paul was a beloved high-school teacher at Adam Scott, where he retired in 1992. He made a lasting impact on the lives of hundreds of young athletes through his dedicated coaching, particularly football, basketball, and wrestling. Equally passionate about the outdoors, Paul also cherished reading, history, and music, sharing his talents through church and folk music group activities. Friends and students will fondly remember Paul’s easy-going nature, calm spirit, readiness to share a smile, and unwavering encouragement. Survived by his loving wife Jennifer, his sons Chris (wife Lori) and Peter (wife Dawn), and late son David (predeceased in 1990). Paul will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Carson, Jackson, Evan, Zoe, and Jasmine, all of whom experienced his gentleness, laughter, and love. Visitation will be held Friday, March 14, 2025, 7:00-9:00 pm at Ashburnham Funeral Home and Reception Centre. Funeral services are scheduled March 15, 2025, with a visitation at 12:30 pm, followed by service and reception at 1:30 pm at St. John’s Anglican Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Peterborough Regional Health Care Centre or St. John’s Anglican Church.
