I'm still processing what happened, and have difficulty figuring out what I want to say. All I know is that I miss you Gramps. I miss how you could be gruff and loving at the same time. I miss when you would come over for a quick visit at my parents, then proceed to stick around for an hour and have dinner with us. I miss driving around with you and hearing you tell stories. I miss getting random phone calls from you just to ask a quick question. There is a lot I miss. Thank you for being a great father / grandfather / great grandfather. I love you.###GESTURE###

Thinking of you with much love Aunt Theresa (Nanny), Laurie, Paul and families as you journey through the loss of dear Uncle Jack. I have so many fond memories of the times I spent with your family. Uncle Jack had a warm and friendly disposition. He was a gentle spirit who laughed easily and always made us feel welcome and loved. He was often in the kitchen where he was preparing wonderful meals for family and friends.

I have struggled in all of this to put my thoughts and feelings into words. I'm heartbroken like everyone else who are family, friends, and neighbours who knew my Grandpa. He was generous, kind, and a hard worker. He inspired me with his work ethic, his commitment to being adept at a task, and taking on new challenges in his wood shop. No job was beneath Gramps if it meant it put food on the table, and supported his family. I take pride in that, and strive to emulate him everyday.I always could lean on Grandpa growing up, and looked up to him from a very young age. He was my first and top choice as my sponsor for catholic confirmation. Grandpa infamously always said "No" or grumble if you asked him for something or for a favour. But if you knew him you knew it really always was a yes in the end. If I needed a ride, he was there, he was also there to watch me and my cousins play sports growing up, and immensely proud to be cheering for us on the sideline. If you needed help on a building project he was enthusiastically there to lend a hand and tools. My Dad and I are currently rebuilding a deck he helped construct years ago, and the new one will be dedicated to his memory and honor.I will always remember our day trips to picnic at Cobourg Beach, with Jamiera, Zach, Jaden, and myself packed in a Buick with Grandma and Grandpa  (and who got the coveted middle seat up front!). Or going camping at Red Eagle, or when they drove to Georgia to surprise Jaden and I. The list goes on, I have 30+ years of cherished memories, and that I'm very thankful for it all. Cousins Laurie, Paul and Families:  My condolences on the passing of wonderful Uncle Jack, married almost 64 years to my late mother's treasured sister, Aunt Teresa (Nanny). As a child, I loved sleepovers at Nanny and Uncle Jack's place and have fond memories of the very fancy dress I wore as a 5 year old flower girl at their wedding in 1956. Uncle Jack was an amazing person who could make us all feel happy, special and loved. May your hearts be comforted by the memory of your wonderful father. I know he will be greatly missed. A strong and loving soul who will be missed terribly. He created a family that has "his" strength, love and resilience.  We are so sorry you have to endure this pain and your loss of such a wonderful man.  Please trust and be open as he will continue to guide you through this and through your journeys forward.

My favorite father-in-law, friend--
You have been a father figure, and a  friend for over 30 years.  You always demonstrated unconditional love and acceptance to me, and I treasure our chats and moments together.  There is a huge void in our family, you were the rock for so many of us. Thank you for all that you have done for our family. Taking my kids to school (I swear they never made that bus once at Holy Cross...), coming to soccer, helping with building projects, daily check ins,  your stews and tea biscuits, but most of all, your love. Uncle Jack, a man of few words, a man of quietness but he always had many smiles and wonderful big hugs, I will miss him dearly but know that he is at peace now. Love always to the family, Uncle Jack was an awesome dad to you all.  Hugs to Nanny
