Holmes, John William – Surrounded by his family on Saturday December 24th, 2022 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Carolyn Diane Holmes (nee Danbrook). Loving father of David Holmes and his late wife Sharon, Susan and her husband Dean Doherty all of Peterborough and Mary Lynne Baxter and her husband Art Bunke of Chatham. Grandfather of Ryan Holmes and his wife Kathryn, Krista Holmes and her husband Justin Gregory and Katherine Doherty all of Peterborough. Great grandfather of Avia and Scarlett Gregory, Theodore and Owen Holmes and the late William Holmes. Brother of the late Bob Holmes and his wife Joyce of Cambridge, Don Holmes and his wife Linda of St. Thomas, Laura Dohnt and her husband Dave of Aylmer, The late Wilma and her late husband Kai Rasmussen and Ken Holmes of St. Thomas . Brother-in-law of Sharon Danbrook of Orosi, Costa Rica, Brenda and David Daniel of Avon, Frank and Wallie Danbrook of L’Ascension, P.Q, Ruth Danbrook of Aylmer and her late husband Tom, Michael and Yanara Danbrook of London, John and Jenny Danbrook of Tillsonburg. Son of the late William and Gertrude Holmes. John was a long-time devoted member of Mark Street United Church, Life Member of Peterborough Kinsmen Club and Chairman of the Board of the Kinsmen Garden Court. John enjoyed his many years serving customers at Holiday Ford Sales.
A memorial service will be held from the Mark Street United Church, 90 Hunter Street East, Peterborough on Saturday January 7, 2023, at 1:30 pm. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:15 pm to 1:15 pm. The service will also be available by Livestream...please scroll down to services and select 'Join Livestream'.
