John O’Leary passed away at his home at Princess Gardens, Peterborough, Saturday May 25th in his 94th year. Beloved brother of Audrey Baker (Paul), predeceased by siblings Rita O’Leary, Francis O’Leary, Marjory McCulloch, Phyllis O’Leary, and Muriel Lucas. Also predeceased by his dear friend Wilma Iglin (Carpenter). He was uncle to 12 nieces and nephews, known as “Jack” to some. John was born in Lindsay, Ontario, on March 16th, 1926. He moved to Peterborough in his early adulthood where he lived most of his life. John was a movie projectionist for 43 years, never really enjoying movies but he loved his job. He was a devout Catholic and a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus. John enjoyed golfing, boating and was a fan of most sports. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or St John Ambulance AED program, which saved his life in 2009. There will be a visitation at the COMSTOCK-KAYE LIFE CELEBRATION CENTRE, located at 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough, Ontario on Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm, followed by funeral mass at ST.
