Beloved husband of Elfie. Loving father of Claudia, and Monica with her husband Steve. Precious Opa to Kylie and Sierra, and dearest brother to Elisabeth with Herbert, and brother-in-law to Inge with Mario.

Very special "Ersatz Toechter" are Mary Ellen with Tom, and Ann with Vince.

John was a quiet, ethical, intelligent man with a curiosity about an endless list of subjects including history, geography, languages, astronomy, nature, etc.

John and family were so proud of his accomplishment of cycling coast-to-coast across Canada at the age of 67.

John lived for his family and worked hard to provide a good life. He always cheered them on and was a steady supporting presence ready to laugh and wiggle his ears on command.
