Joe Heffernan, formerly of Douro in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Jean (Hickey). Loved father of Arlene (Jim Keon), Cynthia (Maurice Hickey), Rob Heffernan and Tara Nazerali. Cherished grandfather of Jordan (Catie), Michael and Kathleen Keon, Paige and Adam Hickey, Alex and Ian Heffernan and great grandfather of Fionn and Maddox Keon. Loving brother of Sister Isabel, Monica (Bernard) Sullivan, Father Bernard, Carmella (Laverne Lemoire), Helen (Vince Condon), Anne, Teresa (Roger Westlake) and the late Gerald. Friends will be received at the COMMUNITY ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL HOME - ASHBURNHAM CHAPEL, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Douro, on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Douro.
