Joseph was my little cousin.  Life happened and we both went our separate ways.  I stayed in Rockland where I was born and he and his family moved to Ottawa where he was born.  The last time we met was at our Uncle's funeral, I think that was in 2006 or thereabouts. 
There has always been a special place in my heart for "Big Joe" and until we meet again,  Love Always Judy Ann 🤍

Its so hard to believe that has been five years since you departed this earthly world.   I think of you often and all of the support you gave so generously while I was growing up i.e. taking me skating, bringing me for treats to Fern's restaurant and oh yes, the big surprise deliveries when you were working out of town!  Oh how I wish I could put my arms around you Joe and get one of your big bear hugs! You will be in my heart and soul forever my hero, my big brother!

It hurts me to think of kind, loving, smart Joe and Nancy not roaming our earth anymore.  Joe and Nancy were so very kind to me and my son when I first landed in Merrickville; in fact, Joe helped my dad move my stuff from Carleton Place.  Over the years, when I would visit them I could count on lively intelligent conversation, kindness, wise advice and lots of laughs.  I hope to see you both on the other side so we can pick up where we left off.  Peace and love.

Joe and Nancy are part of Merrickville's History, the shop, the newspaper, and friendship over many years, will also be in ours thoughts. Robin and Karen Chinkiwsky.

My husband Pat, and I, Ginny, loved and cherished Joe's and Nancy's friendship.  They treated and respected us as family...though our meeting was on a game site where we played every night for about six years together.  They both were very kind and loving.  We'll miss them so much...life is not the same with out them in our world.  God bless their family and God bless their hearts with rapid healing from their sorrows.  Keep Looking Up! When I was young, my uncle Joe was larger than life - his laugh, his heart, his very presence. His kindness to Tony and me was unending, his love enduring. Although time and distance separated us I thought of him often over the years.

I pray that all who love Joe and Nancy will find comfort in many great memories.

Joe was the elder at the NRCan Aboriginal Lodge, One of his saying was "it's all about the food." and he would proceed to tell us about the food.  He brought comfort with food for thought to many people with his kindness and knowledge.  Walk on through the Western Door Joe with love and protection where you will join Nancy

Joe's passing will leave a great hole in many lives. But one of my favourite memories was of him saying that he started each day saying "Today is a good day to die" as he was at peace with his life and he had no unresolved issues. Everyone will miss you Joe. Soar with the eagles.

Joe was a genuinely kind and loving man that I was honored to call my friend. I loved the fact that he had such a keen sense of humor and laughed easily. Some of my best memories was playing Scrabble with Joe. He was quite good at the game and loved a great competitive game. My deepest sympathy to Joe's family and friends in Canada. The world lost a great man.
