It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Joshua Cory Young, age 46, of Peterborough.
An employee of Quaker Oats, where he thoroughly enjoyed his worked and treasured the friendships he made over the years. Known for his big heart, Josh was a generous and giving person, who cared deeply for people and animals alike. He was gifted mechanically, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, and had an incredible ability to “MacGyver” anything that needed fixing. Josh had a great respect for nature and the outdoors. At the cottage on Wolf Lake he spent countless hours fishing, which brought him great joy and peace throughout his life. He also had a passion for automobiles, and outdoor toys- and anything that would go fast.
Josh leaves behind his mother Dawn MacClennan (Rich Barker), his father Fred Young, and his sister Jenna Young (Jeff Stansbury). Lovingly remembered by nieces Jordy and Joell. Held dear by Uncle Alan Brundage; Uncle Morgan (Carol) Brundage & cousins Beth and Evan; and Aunt Barb (Bill) Taylor & cousins Alicia and Andrea.
Deeply missed by all who knew Josh. May he be at peace. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. At Josh’s request there will be no service. Cremation to take place. A celebration of Life is to take place at a later date. In memory of Josh, donations to L.A.W.S. (Lakefield Animal Welfare Society) would be appreciated by his family. Love Always & Forever.
