Lyle Gordon Ahrens

AHRENS, Mr. Lyle Gordon; Peacefully, surrounded by family at the PRHC on Sunday December 3, 2023 at the young age of 93. Leaving to mourn, the love of his life, Heidi Elizabeth, his sweetie of 62 years.

Lyle is survived by his sons Brian Ahrens (Nadia) and Mark Ahrens (Betty Anne). He was Opa to Nicole Ahrens (Joe), Danielle Ahrens, Mitchell Ahrens and Ryan Ahrens. Lyle was predeceased by his sister Eleanor Ahrens. He was born in Vancouver on August 15, 1930 and very proud of his western roots. Lyle graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1953 with a degree in Commerce and went on to complete his Masters in Business in 1956 at the University of Western Ontario. His successful career with Imperial Oil had him traveling across the country and finally settling in Toronto. Lyle enjoyed his 93 years of life focusing on family, family dinners, family sports and life long learning. He was committed to a healthy body and a healthy mind and preached the importance of savings and investments. He was an incredibly hard worker who committed himself to business success while providing for his family. Lyle and Heidi enjoyed almost 50 years as members of Donalda Club in North York playing golf and tennis and socializing there with family and friends. He will be missed by his granddogs Heart, Mango and Indie.

The family is forever grateful to the incredibly caring staff at Princess Gardens and Peterborough Regional Health Center.

In keeping with Lyles wishes, cremation has taken place. Private family arrangements are with Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre. In memory of Lyle, donations may be made to your local Humane Society. Online condolences may be left at comstockkaye.com
