ELMHIRST, Margaret MaryBelle ~ 1918 -2011 MaryBelle passed away peacefully in her sleep at PRHC. Wife of the late Arthur Elmhirst; mother to Ruth (Jan Tombs) and Peter (Anne Marshall); grandmother to Catharine (Brian Rosina), Jeff Tombs (Tracy), Greg (Martina) and Stephen (Caroline) Elmhirst; great-grandmother to Brianna and Liam Tombs, Eloise Rosina, Henry, Ryder, Nadiya and Megan Elmhirst, Georgia and Mary Beck; sister to Bob Humphries, Lois Fraser and the late Muriel Bowman. MaryBelle and Arthur returned to Keene after WWII to develop and operate Elmhirst's Resort, where they raised their family and enjoyed a fulfilling life. MaryBelle was active in the community; she golfed, curled and loved to play bridge. MaryBelle was a wonderful cook and her home was always open to friends and visitors. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Keene United Church, 30 North Street, Keene on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 1 p.m. followed by a celebration of life with friends and family at Elmhirst Resort.
