I spent so much time in the Kelly home during my youth that I feel proud and honoured to say Nelson, you were my brother too. Nelson, my defacto annoying little brother, protective brother, my best friend’s brother. There are so many memories. 
You are the inventor of the Helmet salute, a legacy forever in my heart. We are more than 30 years since then and yet, it is still a greeting of love reserved for a special few. How you jumped off the roof into the pool a million times without serious harm is beyond me. 
When we first met, Nat was bigger than you and the two of you used to rumble in the kitchen. Okay, she would pummel you! Then you grew up and somehow, despite your size, she would still kick your butt. I suspect you let her.
I remember running into you at a keg party in Ottawa and you said to everyone “she’s with me”. You made me feel special. And that was just you. 
There are too many memories. Maybe somehow, someday, the joy they bring can outweigh the sadness that we all feel right now.

So sorry to hear of Nelson's passing. Jess and Flynn, and the rest of the Kelly family my heart grieves for all of you. I am a former neighbour of Nelson and Jess's when they lived on Alma Street in Norwood. Nelson always a big smile and a friendly wave and hello. May his many wonderful memories comfort all his family members throughout  the difficult days.

I did not see Nelson all that frequently over the 22 years we worked at the same company, but when I did run into Nelson, he always had a friendly hello and a big smile.  Sending heartfelt condolences to the entire family.

Condolences on the loss of your husband, father,  son, and nephew. Over the years I've always wonder where Nelson was and what he was up to. He was a great friend in school and he will always be missed.

Nelson, I was thinking the other night back to a time when you were just a child and I use to babysit you and Natalie, you guys had such a beautiful brother sister relationship. Always looking out for each other, and I always loved following Natalie on Facebook and seeing that same special brother and sisterly love as you guys grew up into adults. I cannot express how heartbroken I feel ever since I heard that you have left us, with the love from family and friends I pray everyone can get through this very difficult time. Nelson, you will always missed and will never be forgotten, love you always.

The first time I met Nelson was at my Mothers wedding. He and Jess had gone through a very ruff patch in their relation and I was impress that he had the strength of character and his love of Jess to show up because he knew he was going to get a talking to from me. After a good conversation over and a few beer I was certain that he was a great guy who loved Jess very much, He had made a mistake and swore it would never happen again. As you all know Nelson turned out to be a pillar of strength  and love staying with Jess through thick and thin and his own struggles. To lose Nelson now is wrong and very hard to deal with. Unfortunately I live very far away and due to current circumstances can not be there for Jess. I know Nelson's family will take great care of Jess and all other friend in the area will also
