wife of the late John (Don) Jackson passed peacefully with family by her side.
Mom lived her life fashionably late and waited for all her children to be together before finishing her journey.
Norma was always ready for adventure, had an amazing zest for life, threw great parties - her Christmas Eve open house was famous. Weekends at the family cottage were memorable. She was an avid bridge player, gardener, Bob Seger fan and had a love/hate relationship with the Blue Jays. Born and raised in Guelph she married Don Jackson in 1952. In 1956 with two young children they made Newmarket home moving first to Grace St. then, as the family grew to Queen St., Park Ave. and finally Lorne St as empty nesters.
Norma was an active member of Trinity United Church for 50 years and founding member of the LAMP program. Most of her working life was at Seneca College King Campus.
Norma is survived by her children Sherry (Peterborough), Jason and his wife Linda (Kamloops), Stephanie (Victoria), James and his wife Claudia (South Carolina) and Anne and her husband Doug (Kincardine). She was the proud Grandmother to Chad, Jade, Justin, Andrew, Kassia, Cody, Brandon and Mikaila and was fortunate to meet her great granddaughter Eilee.
Mom’s life was lived to the fullest and in her later years her dementia struggles were met with dignity and grace.
We will miss you always Mom, be with Dad. You may be gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
