It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Norman (Norm) Huff on January 7, 2025, at the age of 75. Norm was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who touched the lives of many with his tenacity, humour, and unwavering love.
He is now at peace and reunited with his beloved wife, Darlene Huff (née Ibbitson), and son, Christopher Huff (Alison Kamiya). He leaves behind his cherished daughter, Laura Huff (Brad Morgan); his sisters, Debbie Subtelny (Mike Subtelny) and Joanne Mann; and his grandchildren, Kendall, Griffin, Avery, and Jackson, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Norm is predeceased by his sister, Elaine (Clarence Burton); his brother, Paul “Hoss” Huff; and his parents, Arnold and Phyllis Huff (née Rowan). He will also be lovingly remembered by his best friend of many years, Brian Penford (Sue Penford), and his extended family, including his nieces, nephews, and countless friends who became like family.
Norm was a man of unshakable strength and conviction, known for his strong-willed nature and firm beliefs. His colorful storytelling had the ability to bring people together and created lasting memories at every gathering. His humour, wisdom, and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
A private memorial service will be held, with a celebration of Norm’s life to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada (www.diabetes.ca/donate) or The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (www.heartandstroke.ca/donations).
