Randy Edward Toms

January 4 1953-March 9 2022

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Peterborough Regional Health Centre after a courageous battle with cancer in his 69th year. Randy was the loving husband and best friend forever to Ann (Preston). Loving son of the late Eldon and Evelyn Preston and the late Rondall and Bernice Toms.

Loving father to Scott Toms (Dawna), Candice Pollock (Jug), and Christy Siesling (Drake). Cherished grandpa of Rebecca, Aaron, Hayden, Ethan, Layla, Prestin, Carter, and Jaxson. Brother of Frank, Rob, the late Barry, and Robin. Randy will be missed and remembered by his many friends, over the years.

Randy was an automotive mechanic and owner of Randy's Car Shop for over 30 years. Randy spent countless years coaching softball and hockey for boys and girls in the area. He was president and a board member at ORSA (Ontario Rural Softball Association) and also a board member of Softball Ontario and Softball Canada. He was a pioneer of softball in the Norwood area which included 5 all Ontario Championships. He loved his family, and adored his grandchildren and was proud of the life that was built over 50 years of marriage. Randy loved the farm, tinkering on equipment, his cars, and all his dogs. He was an influence to many.

Randy’s family would especially like to thank the Palliative Team at PRHC.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday March 19th 2022 from 1 to 4 pm in the Millennium Room at The Norwood Arena, 88 Alma Street.
