Peacefully passed away, surrounded by his family on Friday December 16th, 2016 at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa in his 79th year. Pre-deceased by his partner Barbara Leahy and parents George and Zoe. Loving father of Angela (Fred), Anita (Ron), Pam (Keith) and pre-deceased by his son Ronnie. Proud Papa of Amanda (Andrew), Jodi (Steve), Tammy (Matt), Krista (Tim), Greg (Breanne), Kara (Michel), Kaiya and Jade. Great Papa of Kadri, Hayden and Colby. Eldest brother to Maureen (Chris), Phylis (Tom), Mary, Linda (Peter) and Arthur. Pre-deceased by Zoe, Leonard and Irene. Ron will be sadly missed by a host of nieces, nephews and friends especially Ken and Marion Garvey.

Born in Belfast Northern Ireland and raised in County Down, he immigrated to Canada at the age of 17 years. Family and friends are invited to call at the ASHBURNHAM FUNERAL HOME 840 Armour Road (Just north of Parkhill) on Tuesday December 20th, from 4-8pm. A Celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Wednesday December 21st, in the Ashburnham Chapel following 1 hour of visitation at 11am. Reception to follow in the Legacy Room of the funeral home.
