Smith, Mr. Ross Alexander; It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ross Smith on May 2, 2011 at the age of 68 years. He has waged a valiant battle against pancreatic cancer for the past year but, unfortunately it was the first battle in his life that he simply could not win. He died quietly surrounded by the love of his family and friends. For those who knew Ross, he was truly a larger than life individual who will leave an unfillable void in many people’s lives. He was tireless in his work and built an empire that many have benefitted from and that will live on long after he is gone. Loving son of Myrtle E. Smith and the late Arthur James Smith and brother of Hugh (Ruth) and Braydon Smith. He is survived by his much loved children, son Todd (Lisa), daughter Sharry (Pete) and son Brad (Shawna). He also leaves behind his adored grandchildren of whom he was so proud, Shelby, Art, Todd, Anna, Luke , Charlie, Skylar, Kathleen, Willem, and Cadance. They will miss their beloved Grampa more than words can say. Also survived by Irene Ingram (Auntie Budd) and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by the mother of his children Sharron (Middleton) Smith and his partner and best friend Elizabeth (Libby) Orovan. Visitation will take place at COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday May 5th, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday May 6th.
